Oysters, Pork, and Godzilla

September 2, 2011

So I think my child should have grown up in the 70s.  Not only does he have an intense obsession with anything Star Wars, but now he's singing a song from this famous band wherever he goes:

Yes, my child is singing Blue Oyster Cult's Godzilla song.  In fact, we made a CD of the one song and it plays repeatedly in the car.  Here's an interaction John had with a man at the grocery store yesterday:

Me:  Oh no...(referring to the fact that our favorite flavored pork is not in stock)
John: (taking off with the song) there goes Tokyo!  Go go Godzilla!
Man:  Haha!  I haven't heard that in a long time!  Takes me back.
John:  Oh no, there goes Tokyo!  Go go Godzilla!
Man:  I saw them 5 times in concert.
Me:  Yeah, we like the old stuff.
Man:  (Heard as he walks away down the aisle)  That's the best thing I've heard in a long time!

And, for all of you who'd like to hear it for yourself, here it is.  He's a little less animated than usual, but it's John singing all the same.

We're contemplating sending this into the Blue Oyster Cult to see if we can get an autographed poster.  Think we will?
